Steven Soderbergh should make a movie every month at this point. I really love how he shoots and edits his movies (I know hot take). The set design is amazing. It's absolute genius how most (or maybe all?) of the lighting comes lamps placed on the actual sets. The shimmering light that shines from them is lovely.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 2012
I love that this whole movie is about how everyone fucking hates the Italians.
This might be the most entertaining film of the saga, but the filmmaking is reaching a new level of incompetence. The first 20 minutes are absolutely insane. Bill Condon, one of the worst to ever do it.

This is a film about extremes and contrasts. Good vs evil, liberty vs fascism, the most mind-blowingly beautiful image you've ever seen (that seems right out of Bram Stocker's Dracula) vs something that looks like it's from an Hallmark Christmas movie, perfectly crafted lines vs absolute dogshit dialogue, etc. What's crazy is that I feel like those gaps in quality serve the film and its message about the two different avenues that we can take as a civilization.
