A fun sci-fi. It did not live up to ex machina or Charlie Brookers Black mirror but the premise was encapsulating and was an enjoyable watch and the films portrayal had a nice style to it that I enjoyed.

Ridley Scott wrote a very tangled narrative and it definitely lived up to its title.
Having the compelling Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie added to the tension of mistakes and revealed the true power dynamic despite other nations thinking they were the big guns.
It was exciting to see Oscar Isaac in a different movie other than Star Wars or Dune. Can I just say Mark Strong had some real range in this movie, he was totally believable.

Nic Pizzolatto is a legend, this and having written True Detective before.
Living crisis through Jake gyllenhalls face was amazing, the tension, the talking of a ledge, the twists that he helped the wrong people.
It was truly captivating all the way through, 911 calls are stressful enough, and the added twist of his life tying in to the story was fascinating.
The lines "the TV is broken" or "he is sleeping" are masterpieces as they show not tell so…
