Yall saying this is as bad as the Godfather?

A solid start to a trilogy everyone loves. Pacing is a bit weird, feels like there’s only ever 1 moment to breathe in the entire movie. Also, they reuse the same music motifs a lot over and over again, which becomes readily apparent early on. Sort of makes it feel like the entire middle sequence of Top Gun when Maverick and Charlie get together and “Take My Breath Away” plays for like 30 minutes.

Rogue One does an amazing job in the third act, such a good job, that you almost forget what happened for the first 2/3 of the movie. The movie does a great job of filling one of the most infamous plot holes in movie history, and does it in a fun way. While slow at times, the pacing is good, and my only gripe is with Jyn Erso, who sees the Rebellion kill her father, and rather than becoming more disenfranchised with them, fully commits to the cause.

A fun heist movie. The cast does an excellent job of capturing the personality of the characters before them. The introduction to Beckett’s crew feels a little drawn out, but the story has a distinct flavor compared to other movies in the main trilogy, which isn’t bad. The ending however, falls flat, seeming to tease a second movie that doesn’t exist.
