I enjoyed the tight and intelligent story by David Koepp, which favours the emotional stakes of its characters over the usual (and very tired) spy movie global espionage plot. The performances are strong, and Soderbergh / Koepp make clever use of modern spy-tech to create some intense sequences.

Overall, it's very good but left me wanting more; it had the potential to be great. I wouldn't have minded if the runtime was a bit longer to make room for some more scenes between Fassbender and Blanchett's spy-couple.

A somewhat challenging watch given its non-linear narrative structure, but one that pays off if you stick with it. Lyne takes many risks with the storytelling but ultimately succeeds in creating a thoughtful and haunting exploration of death and grief, made all-the-more affecting by the nightmarish production design and cinematography.

The more I think about the film and its storytelling, the more I admire it. I look forward to revisiting it in the future.

Brought a tear to my eye. A wonderfully moving story about the power of cinema and the importance of chasing your passion. To echo an interview from the film, the world needs more people like Keith Stata.
Thank you to the director, Matt Finlin, for bringing this Canadian story to the screen.

I can't wait to visit the Highlands cinema this summer (with some donations of cat food of course).

The last Robert Zemeckis film I saw in theatres was his 2009 adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol', 15 years ago. I enjoyed that film when I saw it, as I was the target audience at the time, and for better or worse I have always appreciated Robert Zemeckis' innovative approach to the language of cinema.

With 'Here', Zemeckis is once again innovating with how we tell stories on screen, playing with time and space in a way which I'm not…
