Bridget Jones's Baby 2016
I more and more realize that the first Bridget Jones was kind off a lightning-in-a-bottle movie. A cheeky crowd-pleasing comedy that expertly managed to balance on the line between cringe and sincere. None of Bridget's mishaps in that one felt pandering or forced... but then afterwards they somehow forgot that. I really didn't like the second one. Not only did it rehash the first one, which I could've accepted if it wasn't so ridiculous. I'm all for sequels taking bigger…

Queer 2024
Really engaging first half, then it slows down a little (cute sloth), and then the yage hits... and Jesus Christ.
And this movie looks so fucking good, the camera angles, the lighting, the colours - me just listing off these won't do them justice. And damn all those trippy dream sequences were something I didn't knew I've missed. Daniel Craig is one of the greatest actors, completely honest.

To Kill a Mockingbird 1962
It's interesting to see the book being translated into film. To see what they kept, simplified and left off. Actually watching it makes it more gripping than reading it imo, espacially the court scene. Tho I prefer the book overall because the characters, particularly Scout, felt more fleshed out there. But Gregory Peck is absolutely perfect as Atticus, with his commanding yet noble and assured pressence. The other actors really captured their roles too, especially Brock Peters as Tom Robinson.
Also fun to see my dad, who hasn't read the book, predict pretty much every single thing correctly.Translated from by -
