    ★★★★

Nosferatu is Robert Eggers at his best—incredibly atmospheric gothic horror with such admirable, intentional direction. The cinematography, sound, and score all assist in crafting an unsettling nightmare that lingers long after the credits roll. The film does a fantastic job of exploring our "shadow selves"; a concept originated by Carl Jung symbolizing the part of ourselves inherently drawn to evil desires, and how it can eventually overtake us. Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, and Bill Skarsgard are all phenomenal.

    We Live in Time

    ★★★½

We Live in Time reflects the raw and honest spectrum of human emotion through fragments of life’s moments, while poignantly highlighting its finite nature. Its non-linear structure, while intriguing and occasionally creating compelling juxtaposition, often fails to add significant depth to the narrative. The film’s real strength comes from Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, whose emotionally charged performances elevate the story.

    The Northman

    ★★★

The Northman is a brutal and gritty Viking tale, the likes of which we’ve never seen before. And while I was impressed by its spectacle and craftsmanship, I feel it lacked any heart or emotional depth. I didn’t find myself invested in these characters nor this story; I didn’t FEEL anything. At the end of the day, while it’s a film that I can appreciate, it just wasn’t for me.

    Tenet

    ★★★½

Right when the movie ended, a guy in the back of my theatre yelled "WOOO, I have no idea what just happened!" And I think that pretty much sums it up.

This was a very interesting experience. A lot of the exposition and plot was lost to me due to the loads of complex information being presented fairly quickly and the incomprehensible dialogue throughout (caused by the "mumbly" execution along with the energetic soundtrack that never seemed to let up).…
