Update ///
Really, really good. The acting is exceptional. I found myself drawn to this movie despite hating Trump and being a straight man. That’s how you know it’s good.
Largely unmemorable movie with mid writing and a half-baked plot. Even after seeing the reviews, I had higher hopes for this one.
Lukas Gage continues to level up. Jack Quaid has potential, but he remains stagnant. This is the first project of Sophie Thatcher’s that I’ve seen, and I was very impressed. She has a lot of runway.
This validates my feeling that no one needs fancy electric kitchen tools.
Fourth rewatch has me ready for a review.
It’s a perfect movie that touches so much ground — careers, womanhood, motherhood, religion, perseverance, abuse, and most importantly, trauma.
It’s exceptional down to the minor details and this last rewatch upgraded it into my top five movies. It used to scare me, but now I just appreciate it — the videography, writing, sound, acting and directing are incredible.
I hate Kobble more than anything!
