Okay, this is an epic to end all epics. It is so big in scope and drama, that it is hard to me to put it into small words and without running out of adjectives.

A very simple yet very effective thriller with an incredible small performance by Orson Welles. How he manages to steal the show with this small screen time shows of his talent. No offense to Joseph Cotten, who’s solid, but c’mon he’s Orson Welles. The cinematography is just fantastic and the sound the sets as well. My favorite being the claustrophobic, narrow, maze like sewer system.
A fantastic film. I have yet to see All the King’s Men but I doubt it can reach this.
