Not as visually impactful as his others films in its storytelling and was too talky and self-important in its dialogue. Thematically, and with the motivations of the main character, its premise felt similar(ish) to First Reformed. Perhaps this could have benefitted from more shotguns to the head!

There’s a joke to be made about Patricia Arquette ironically being more ‘severed’ in this film than her unsevered self in Severance but I’m not smart enough to articulate that

Come and See 1985
Everyone should give this a watch. It puts classics like Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan to shame. The newer, restored version somehow manages to make it even more eerily real. But… not enough shooting cannons at pyramids for me.
