Fascinating how apparently only 10 years ago, fantasies about colonizing space for the sake of saving the ‘resilient’ human race still seemed more realistic than imagining a world in which we would finally deal with the shit we destroyed. Perhaps Oppenheimer’s more self-reflective attitude towards human actions is Nolan’s response to Interstellar’s ego-centric solution.
