The ending of this film is brilliant. There was a section of it around the third act where it felt like the film was lost when it was only supposed to be the protagonist. It'll definitely be worth a re-watch some point especially if there's a directors' cut.

This one I never saw because his shows in French were always kind of mythical to me. After seeing clips of his first attempts at shows in France, this is like night and day.
And, of course, he throws in a gag about the Queen that’s basically an excuse for him to conjugate a vern, so it’s brilliant for those who learned French as a second language.

After 4 sittings to trudge through this one, in about 24 hours, I’m actually glad Criterion’s box set has a 2nd doc on the ‘28 games.
While on occasion there’s some great slow-mo footage or amazing camera angle, the film lingered on certain events on certain events without judicious editing.
