Beau Is Afraid 2023
I did not like this film at first viewing. I thought it was too long, too disjointed at the end, and pretentious. However, 2 weeks after seeing the film, I could not get it out of my mind. This is a film unlike any other you have ever seen. It pushes cinema forward in an extremely exciting way, and it is one of Joaquin Phoenixs’ finest performances. You will either love or hate this film, but no matter how you feel about it it will have an incredibly profound effect on you as only the strongest pieces of art can provoke.
