    Saw this with my girlfriend who was seeing it for the first time, which is always a great delight. There was also a new viewer in the audience because so many on the reveals and twists really caught them off-guard, it was fun! On this particular watch, the whole noir aspect of it really stood out, particularly lighting and shadows. That shot of Sandy emerging from the darkness for the first time, wowee.

    Also found myself getting choked up during Sandy's monologue about the robins as I feel like it truly sums up Lynch's ideology and just made me miss him.

    Ridiculously boring and it really all starts once the characters open their mouths and start speaking. Dinosaur feels so ambitious and has an aura of self-importance. At times, it carries itself in a manner that begs to be praised and worshipped; it tries illicit the feelings that The Lion King does naturally.     While the visuals in this movie are absolutely stunning, the film really lets itself down by not providing very much context to its scenes and elementary juxtaposition. Samsara is a mix of poverty porn and "we live in a society" philosophy that can be consumed by an "artsy" (white) audience so they can have the illusion of understanding another part of the world's culture because they saw them do a traditional dance for two minutes in this movie.
