The Apartment 1960
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Like a fine Cadillac whose parts are so pristine and perfect that you're mesmerized each time you see it.
One of American cinema's greatest works from one of its greatest directors. Billy Wilder's The Apartment treads the line of perfection. It's damn near perfect or, hell, maybe it IS perfect. Blue Velvet 1986
Saw this with my girlfriend who was seeing it for the first time, which is always a great delight. Samsara 2011
While the visuals in this movie are absolutely stunning, the film really lets itself down by not providing very much context to its scenes and elementary juxtaposition. Samsara is a mix of poverty porn and "we live in a society" philosophy that can be consumed by an "artsy" (white) audience so they can have the illusion of understanding another part of the world's culture because they saw them do a traditional dance for two minutes in this movie.
It feels…

Eraserhead 1977
Had the quintessential Eraserhead experience of seeing this with my girlfriend who didn't like it at all while my weird ass held a plushie of the Eraserhead baby
