Gladiator II 2024
I am so confused. Surely the point of a sequel, especially one 20 years later to a well loved film, is to create something that adds to the legacy? Despite Paul Mescal’s thighs this does not do that!
Bad script, poor dialogue and sub par acting (including DW + ozempic and his inability to master a neutral accent or the robes he’s wearing!). Don’t get me started on the genetically modified monkeys and sharks in the Colosseum…not even absurd enough to just be fun!

I really enjoyed the normalcy/mundanity of this film, FP and AG are flawless. But wonder if we would have been pulled in deeper if there was a little less timeline jumping at the beginning? It’s hard to place the characters when you’re trying to guess what life-period you’re in by the length of FP’s fringe!
