Man, do the Coppola women know how to make movies about womanhood. Loved the gradual reveal of details as the movie went on but I’m not a fan of the random explosions of expository writing. I was fully immersed in the movie until the fight between Shelly and Hannah where all the details about their relationship emerged but the fallout didn’t feel justified, like there were scenes missing that would’ve pieced it all together. Pamela Anderson’s performance is incredible and she shines the whole way through, but unfortunately the writing casts too much of a shadow to make this movie a contender for awards season.
