  They got TWO weirdo emperors to try to act just like Joaquin Phoenix, but they only served to highlight how amazing Joaquin was in the original. Anyway the mental gymnastics required to make this kid be Maximus’ son were so goofy. Cheesy and I lost interest toward the end. I wanted to like this, but just watch the first season of HBO’s Rome, because it rips.

  I wanted to like this to support Amy and silly Happy Madison fun fluff movies, but it was pretty bad. The chemistry was there with Will Forte, but the premise was so so terrible. I did watch the whole thing and maybe chuckled a couple times.
