    Heretic is basically an atmospheric comedy-thriller of religious questioning rather than a one-location horror film, specially in the first half of the film. Even though it may seem like a simple questioning of religion, I personally think it actually explores the simple things that people hold on to in this day and age in order to continue to exist through the conflict of “belief vs. disbelief” and “a battle of will vs. intellectualism and spirituality”.

    With all these cringey AI-generated TikTok trends out there, I think Wes Anderson just so happens to drop this masterpiece, arguably the most meta and layered film he’s ever done.

    The setting, the dialogue, the play within a movie style, the cue cards dictating scene changes, as well as the stylistic flare have effortlessly come to fruition in Asteroid City. Even every shot looks like a bleached out postcard from the 1950s Arizona in its best ways possible.
