Taxi Driver 1976
Finally got round to watching this.. and wow is it beautiful.
Beginning of this film I truly had no idea what to expect. Betsy shows up and I thought its another one of those hopeless lonely romances, but then Travis’ anger for injustice and his.. racism.. keeps seeping in little by little until the film is flipped completely on its head. I almost wanted it to be one of those types of romances because I loved their mentions of music…

the gore is what I really enjoyed about this movie it made me squirm a lot 10/10… but past that some parts of the plot felt extremely lazy and the whole thing only merely touches upon the patriarchal issue it wants to explore.. it was quite shallow and too repetitive. The end was terrible too. Sue was fun though I enjoyed her segment.
I get the feeling they attempted to cover up bad plotting with the great gore and effects to try give the same wow factor but it just doesn’t hit the same for me as something that’s truly well considered unlike this.
