All very meta, very cleverly written and funny at times especially the writers internal thoughts and the Alan partridge-like dictaphone memos ‘kaufman, bald, fat loser’. Never a big fan of Meryl Streep to be honest but liked nick cage in this.

Requiem for a Dream 2000
I did find it interesting the different routes people can take to end up miserable, especially wee mumzy with the prescription drugs. It was all very sad and brutal but the characters were too one dimensional for anything to properly hit home, and visually it was pretty bland. Kindness and respect for everyone, no one chooses to be in a brutal situation.
