  Cannibal Holocaust 1980

  To it's credit the movie has an interesting (but very clunky) message that's surpassingly relevant today, and there's some interesting technical decisions (like shooting the main film on 35mm and the found footage on 16).

  It also deserves props for confronting viewers with the blood on their hands for having kept the presented themes alive - a filth that's certainly not limited to those who have seen Cannibal Holocaust.

  But fuuuck. Had to look away during the "pig coon" scene…

  I initially had this one written off as a modern, jump scare fest, but I was pleasantly surprised - great atmosphere and pacing. Loses one star for an ending that felt glued-on and the "based on actual events gimmick.
