I HATED EVERY BIT OF THIS FILM.
The horrible depiction of “hysterical, mad woman” and that utterly grotesque Nick character are extremely well done so yes it IS a good film but it is the epitome of misogyny and patriarchy.
The film’s heavy male gaze sickened me to my stomach and I wanted every single male character to die instantly. Oh and including the toxic mother-in-law.
Watch it, even if it is extremely difficult to watch. Watch it and see how far but how little we’ve come since the 60s.
