Fritz the Cat 1972
An interesting movie, for sure. It’s got a strong opinion about the self-aggrandizing, hedonistic, pseudo-intellectual liberal type and their views on race relations, sexual liberation, and drug use. Is it satire? commentary? parody? I’d love to learn more about this film, the origin of Fritz, and the creative team.
Too overtly sexual for my taste, almost as if they were curious as to see how much they could get away with. It lost its impact after only a few minutes.
I really dig the art style and music though.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
Christmas 2014 my parents bought me the series of books by JRR Tolkien and I was absolutely in love with the world he built. Middle-Earth and the variety of characters fascinated me. I read through those 1,000-ish pages before New Years Day.
Fast forward to my birthday 2015. My parents buy me the LOTR movie collection and I’m absolutely blown away by the transition from page to screen.
Is it a perfect 1-to-1 adaptation? No otherwise it would be like a 4 hour movie. Does it need to be a perfect 1-to-1 adaptation? No, not at all.
Everything about this movie is fantastic.
