  I found this movie unexpectedly touching and personal. Jake Gyllenhaal was better than I’ve seen him in almost anything, and the emotional slow burn with lighthearted moments was not only exactly what I needed, but also inspiring. Naomi Watts is perfect, as always, and this film truly contains multitudes.

  I don’t know how I missed this Brat-Pack-adjacent movie. Andrew McCarthy hooks up with Rob Lowe’s mom. But all is forgiven because 80’s. Movies have changed so much over the last 40 years.

  I have watched the original Roadhouse half a dozen times. Great movie. I am convinced someone uploaded that script to Chat GPT and said “rewrite it for 2024”. This cannot possibly be written by a human. And if it is, god help them. This film did earn one star because some of the fight scenes were well-shot, and an extra half star for Jake Gyllenhaal’s abs, which really carry the weight of the film.
