Could have done without the anti China propaganda. Isabelle Huppert is once again reminding me to wear lipstick. Diderot would have loved her I think. But what a boring movie otherwisd! I forgot how boring police interrogations are! And maybe two shots of the actual workers at the plant? Could have gone about this in so many more interesting ways. Three stars if only because of Isabelle.

The Beast 2023
An excellent example of why movies need not be 3 hours long. The endless repetition without nuance or interest does this film a real disservice. Whatever sense of intrigue and wonder we have at Seydoux's wandering through the soft white tunnel to her "interview" is lost in the endless stream of nonsense where the film ends. Bonello's conjuring of Lost Highway leaves us bored and left with a caricature, where we were instead at least halfway interested until then. It's…

The Place Beyond the Pines 2012
The structure of this movie leaves me confused. Shifting the narrative to the children of the main plot characters is abrupt and uninteresting, we dont know enough Ryan Gosling's character and really dont care about either of their children.
