The chemistry between Eastwood and MacLaine is one of the strongest aspects of the film. I love their relationship. Eastwood’s stoic, pragmatic demeanor contrasts sharply with MacLaine’s passionate and mysterious performance as the nun with a secret.
The arid beauty of the Mexican landscape is perfectly captured. While the film leans heavily on its charismatic leads, the pace sometimes slows in the middle, and some of the humor can feel a little stale…Other than that, it’s a fun and entertaining Western that I highly recommend!
