this movie is a fever dream and i feel like i need to rewatch it to fully grasp what is going on. the use of technology creates a very us vs. other that was a little confusing at first, but necessary for the message intended. reading the article "erasing territorial sovereignty" cleared up a lot for me.
i also love the inclusion of the capoeira and spandau ballet.
this was such a hard watch! watched it at 9AM for a class and it fully ruined my day.
i loved the lighting changing between scenes when marie-anne was alive and after her death, the warmth was gone and everything was very grey and grim. the acting could have been a little better but script wise it didn't seem like they had much to work with. i wish that we had gotten to see more from the story than it jumping from violent scene to violent scene, but it makes sense considering the real tragedy that is being told.
