  A post-apocalyptic, neo-samurai western fever dream with elements of escape from LA, the holy mountain, and mad max from the greatest mind in film today. It's certainly not his finest film - worse than I thought when it was announced, but much better than what I expected based on the reviews.

  First, a little background. In the early 1970's, Nikkatsu decided to stop focusing on action films and shift into the pinku film market (think softcore pornography with a heavy focus on story).
