I'll be honest, when I first tried watching this movie, I couldn’t get past the beginning. Nothing really grabbed me, and I almost gave up. But after giving it a second chance, I’m glad I did. This is a fantastic sci-fi film that tackles themes of classism and inequality with depth and nuance. It’s fun, brutal, original, action packed, and absolutely mesmerizing. The cast delivers standout performances, perfectly conveying the film's social commentary. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but the storytelling and direction, especially from Bong Joon-ho, made it a truly compelling experience. What's not to love?

Joker is a masterpiece, capturing a raw, gritty tone that perfectly complements its haunting story. Joaquin Phoenix delivers an extraordinary performance, fully immersing himself in the character and bringing a level of depth and intensity that’s truly captivating. From start to finish, the film holds your attention, offering a fresh and compelling take on the iconic villain, one that works brilliantly without the presence of Batman. The ending ties everything together in a powerful way, showing the tragic transformation of…

The opening of the film immediately grabbed my attention, with a man fantasizing about breaking into a house and murdering a family, it’s a bold and unsettling start. This sets the tone for what is, at its core, a crass, satirical dark comedy. While it certainly made me laugh at times, there were moments when the satire felt a bit too on the nose and heavy handed. The film often seemed to overdo it, constantly reminding you that it was…

This film is a perfect example of a sequel that wasn’t needed. While visually stunning with some striking shots and solid performances, the story ultimately falls flat, barely reaching the level of decent. Even the musical aspect failed to capture my attention and I love them, leaving the entire experience feeling like a slog. The only redeeming qualities were the cinematography, the cast, and the fact that I wasn’t watching alone, otherwise, I would’ve had more fun taking a nap. Unfortunately, this sequel completely undermines the magic of the original film for me.
