when i was a kid i'd watch snl first thing every sunday morning with my mom. the 40th special was the first time i was allowed to stay up and watch it live. this holds up, but is more of a series of monogues and compilations rather than a tribute like the 50th special. with that being said, the sketches themselves are higher highs, so i'd just watch them on youtube instead. in hindsight, this was a decent close to one of snl's many golden eras. but i feel like i remember there being more bits? i know they cut segments for streaming sometimes idk

great mix of current cast, all-time greats, iconic sketches & characters. real tribute to the show's impact on comedy history. my favorite part was adam sandler's song. tomorrow morning i'll rewatch the 40th special, then immediately cancel my peacock subscription.
