Tremendous. Has a few scenes that I think might be Tarantino’s best work. The opening scene in particular stands out. That scene is also his best Leone tribute. Even though it’s clearly based on The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West, it works much better than some of the homages in Django.

Pretty solid premise. It’s a bit silly at times, but overall pretty good. Like many horror movies, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be enjoyable. The director is clearly a massive fan of John Carpenter.

Objectively an expertly crafted film, but it ultimately isn’t one my favorites. When QT is at his craziest, it tends to be a little too over the top for my taste and that’s the case here. I enjoy large parts of it, but the surrealism just doesn’t quite hit for me. I do love Foxx and Waltz though.
Side note, I think QT might turn in the worst acting performance of all time in this movie. Almost single-handedly ruins the whole thing in like 30 seconds of screen time
