    A nicely crafted documentary short with a well chosen subject.

    The subject was probed in a gentle way which elicited some genuinely emotional responses which didn't feel like they had been manipulated out of them.

    Archival content was used sparingly, but with intent, in places the sound design was a little unclear, with some dialogue being hard to make out but, overall, the documentary had a pleasingly gonzo style and was a positive representation of immigrant culture that we rarely get to see highlighted in the UK.

    I've never wanted to live in the suburbs. The idea of living in an identikit house on an identikit street surrounded by neatly mown lawns and low walls (or if you are American, white picket fences) is one that seems to lack imagination or creativity, like you are settling for 'mid'; after watching Lorcan Finnergan's Vivarium I barely want to step foot in one let alone live in one.

    When the MCU was moving through the gears with Endgame in sight there was a palpable sense that every single moment in each film was planned and contributed (rightly or wrongly) to a shared goal.

    It is testament to Driver's performance that none of the obvious elements of his physicality, that Oliver would like Driver to privately demonstrate, matter in Paterson.

    He plays the title character with a slow, methodical grace that belies his size and muscle mass and instead imbues Paterson with an every-man quality that anchors the film's emotional core.
