My ratings don’t always reflect how good the movie actually is. That would only make sense.

Sigh. Does nothing Brave. Does nothing New.

How do we have eight writers and they all forgot to develop these characters? Half the scenes feel hastily pieced together with actors who never set foot on set together? Dialogue Tarantino would kill for. Comedy so darkly hilarious Bong Joon-ho would cry laughing watching. A fire sequence Tarkovsky would have gawked at. It’s like if someone saw the movie ‘Logan’ and thought to themselves “okay but what if there was fuckin dinosaurs?”

Has some fun ideas (the reveal of where they are is fun) that are unfortunately nestled between every genre trope you can imagine. Unenthused execution and first-script levels of dialog make even the fun or touching moments feel hollow.

side note: did the costume department put the lead actress in Balenciaga speeds?

It’s not going to be winning any Oscar’s for best performances or anything but the elements of family and love will have you forgiving any of that.  It almost felt like a nod to the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy? It hit on all the right notes. The action sequences especially!
But with a blue iron man. …
