I like this movie so much and everything from Lila going to the house to the reveal of the mother is so tense and exiting... and then the psychiatrist scene happens. It's genuinely so stupid and it tries to discuss and comment on the film and the character of Norman Bates in place of the audience and it does it with such an overbearing sense of smugness. I hate it so much, it genuinely drags my enjoyment through the mud. At least the film doesn't end with it, the scene with the mother speaking and the final shot are amazing at least
