  movie was so enjoyable and touching that ever since i've watched it, i've noticed i take more care when urinating in public toilets because i wouldn't want to make a mess and disappoint hirayama.

  definitely going to be a film i'll revisit in the future as a reminder of the hedonic treadmill we all find ourselves running in as we advance in our careers and lifestyle.

  An enjoyable dark comedy albeit containing a MAJOR continuity error regarding Oliver’s penis size. When the cute lightskin guy (Farleigh) remarks “good for you” in the nude flower grass field, it is implied Oliver is well endowed without a hint of sarcasm or irony. However in the iconic final scene set to ‘Murder on the Dance Floor’, Oliver is revealed to have an average-to-below average flaccid penis in ideal indoor climate controlled conditions. The Edge of Seventeen isn’t a groundbreaking film but it doesn’t have to be. Cliches exist for a reason. Seeking validation, navigating trauma and the fear of being vulnerable with others are timeless experiences everyone undergoes.
