Insanity on the surface with an entirely unique exploration of fate/human connection underneath. Just like House it’s a movie that couldn’t be recreated by any other director, and it shows so much with very little. Excited to watch this again after the mission with more knowledge of Japanese culture and language. Great final movie for the next 2 years, 5 stars!

Watched this on a pirated site with a monitor connected to a portable speaker with 5 other guys in my dorm, starting and ending in the late hours of the night. While there were interruptions and times when the movie cut out because of poor streaming quality, it was possibly the perfect setting to enjoy this story.

Like the subject matter of fascism, it’s equally ridiculous and horrifying. Delivery on every line is perfect, and the editing and framing are masterclass (the shoe tying part made me bawl like a baby). I’m going to rewatch that bike scene a few more times
