  Well, good luck to everyone else because this is close to peerless. Master levels of lighting (really cannot be overstated how on the nose the cinematography is, considering there’s *almost* literal brush strokes) and staging (more than a few simply haunting shots). 

  Merlant and Haenel are resplendent. Even before the last scene - which is gutting and triumphant - the subtle facial control displayed throughout the film is beautiful. There should be a trigger warning for anyone scared of locking…
