First things first - I have no business reviewing the newest Spider-Man movie. Second things second - I have little idea of what happened on the big screen. It was akin to some frenzied psychedelic experience from the late sixties interspersed with occasional poignant scenes of classic drama, albeit featuring cartoon, um, animated characters (with overemphasized cartoon features). As this review contains spoilers, real fans needn’t have read past the first line.

Marshmallow drama or Marsh melodrama? Either way, you have it in the just-released movie version of “Where the Crawdads Sing.” Co-produced by the book’s publisher, Harper Collins, the film makes for a pleasant evening of lightweight fluff. There are no actors of renown, except David Strathairn. This makes sense for a book that’s been read by a gazillion people, because you don’t need stars to sell the story.
I haven’t read the book but judging by the movie version…
The best thing that can be said about the new movie “Air” is it had a great soundtrack. The trouble is the film felt forced and thereby fell flat.
It’s the story of how Nike signed Michael Jordan and changed the nature of marketing athletes through endorsement deals. But, the filmed version, the acting, the script just didn’t ring true. And this review comes from a guy who read Nike-founder, Phil Knight’s autobiography, “Shoe Dog” twice and loved it.
