  The most succinct and articulate enunciation of michael mann’s primary concerns: the harshly contrasted juxtaposition of romantic tenderness with cold professionalism, a calculated professionalism  in turn dictated entirely by capital. If Miami Vice didn’t exist this would be his masterpiece. This is just the greatest american director of all time. Michael mann!

  Any minor note I might have is completely undermined by the fact that the final 15 minutes feature some of the most creative and exhilarating filmmaking i’ve experienced in a theater since fury road’s opening weekend. “Sorry Luca I wasn’t familiar with your game like that” etc. tons of fun
