Eve's Bayou 1997
this was the slice of southern gothic i needed!! as someone that is caribbean, learning about the different practices but also southern i loved the representation of this being set in louisiana with a haitian family. the willow trees have me nostalgic everytimeeeee. i’d like to see more movies like this surrounding santería or obeah. it’s been a minute since i’ve seen anything new with witches or anything supernatural…hollywood is losing me.
