A deliberately slow burn/mindfuck for the first hour, Ash switched gears in its third and final act to deliver enough body horror, paranoia, and even something resembling a linear plot to make this a satisfying (enough) alien parasite flick. It reminded me of a low budget Life meets Europa Report.

T. REX 2024
Surely, you didn’t expect I would rate this anything fewer than 5 stars.
Yes, this is a dinosaur documentary. More specifically, this is STEM outreach by way of Tyrannosaurus, Edmontosaurus, and Triceratops, wrapped up in graphic novel and heavy metal stylings.
The science was current, the visuals stunning, and I couldn’t ask for a more perfect narrator than Dr. Alan Grant—I mean, Sam Neill. His subtle acknowledgement of scientific inaccuracies in Jurassic Park (without actually naming the movie) was excellent. And then he called T. rex the GOAT. Brilliant.
Worth the watch in IMAX 3D.
