I wanted to learn more about the east end but instead learned that jealousy is a poison that will wreck your life.
This movie moved me more than I expected. It does have a few clunky bits and at some stages feels more like a theatre experience than a movie. But I was absorbed enough in the story not to mind too much.
Another reminder to stay clear of the drug cartels. Especially if you find a briefcase of Benjamin’s followings shoot out.
In short, a gripping movie. Notable features are there are multiple fleshed out characters (which is typically hard to do well without blowing out the run time); intertwining story lines that weren’t ever confusing or mysterious; and an ambiguous endings that leaves the viewer pondering various questions of agency, motivation, and morality. Highly recommend.

The reputation of James Cameron’s Titanic definitely precedes it. At the time, it was the most expensive film ever made. The box office success was astounding. So much so, that Titanic was the first film to reach the billion-dollar mark.
Of course, all of that build up doesn’t come without consequences. That is, I’m going to need to see something pretty spectacular to dish out a good ranking. And unfortunately, seeing something decidedly average is going to lead me…
