Probably about 10-15 minutes too long but an enjoyable film overall. DeNiro’s portrayal of Frank Costello and his interactions with Vito Genovese reminded me of his performance of Sam Rothstein butting heads with Nicky Santoro from Casino in many ways. I couldn’t help but feel that it was a poor decision to have him playing both main parts in this film. Honestly pretty good by Marvel standards these days. This will fall right around or slightly above the mid point for grading all Marvel films. I came into this movie with very low expectations, which were met in the first few.. cringey minutes. The film got better as it went along and mixed some very compelling moments with the cringe(to be expected these days). Really good action scenes and performances— especially from Ford and Nelson. Overall, I came away enjoying this movie. (DOLBY) 70/100

The re- release announcement brought back memories of being 10 years old in 1999. The hype surrounding this movie was crazy. So many brands/stores(Pepsi, Hasbro, BK, Pizza Hut, KFC, etc.) were pushing some type of Phantom Menace related product and/or promotion.

Always thought this was an awful movie, therefore, I haven’t rewatched it in 10+ years.

Upon review, after seeing it on the big screen again, this movie has been criminally underrated by most(myself included). I went in thinking I…

A fine film. Probably 10-15 minutes too long. Was a bit drawn out unnecessarily at times in the first 2/3. Really had a satisfying build up and finish in the final 1/3.
