This film was a fun and engaging entry point into Almodovar’s oeuvre and seems to establish many of the trademarks that made him such a singular cinematic figure. While the narrative of the film was a little thin and suffered from the feeling that everything occurs just a little too ‘conveniently’, the panache of the experience overall makes it a very enjoyable ride.
