Watched this for the first time when I was 15. It is so much more heartbreaking now that I am Halley’s age (I think). The acting is incredible from the kids to the moms to the god himself Sir Dafoe. Seeing financial struggle through the eyes of innocence is so helpless, but you can’t help but smile when Moonee is dancing carelessly while her mom verbally assaults motel staff. Everyone can relate to someone in this movie. I miss being a little girl in the summer.
