Consistently enjoyable, and poses some really fascinating hypotheticals. Some of the political commentary is almost too on the nose (it’s hard to parody reality when reality is this wild), but generally hits with humor and sharpness. I genuinely felt for those baby bugs. Somehow, this feels like a sister movie to Don’t Look Up…

How can Dwayne perfectly shoot K. Hart in the neck to make the bad guys think he killed him but actually not do any damage, but then miss shooting the actual bad guy across a 20 foot bridge mere moments later? Idk, but the bullies are so over the top in this movie it’s hard not to just side with them. Also most of Hart’s rants just go on way too long, but I suppose I laughed a couple times, so it wasn’t all bad.

Science fiction at its absolute finest. I got chills 5 separate times. My mouth dropped open twice. Villeneuve perfectly picks his battles for what to adapt from the books, and what to leave behind. The movie leaves you with many contemplations and, based on who views it, is easily interpretable in many different ways. The sociopolitical implications are fully explored and put on display. And the ambush scenes… I lost my breath. The lasguns just slicing through Harkonen ships like…
