The Truman Show 1998
Fantastic film about freedom vs control, American consumerism, and epistemology. Didn't think Jim Carrey would've pulled off such a serious role, but I was pleasantly surprised by how genuine his acting came off. An amazing take on "What if we just fucked with a guy all his life?"

Bruce Almighty 2003
Pretty solid comedy film about a man wrestling with how uncontrollable his life is, even when he has the powers of a god. The movie's best and worst feature is the main character, Bruce Nolan.
Jim Carrey is hilarious, and while I understand that Bruce needs to start out as an asshole to have growth later on, but in my opinion his growth came about too suddenly, especially with how irritating he is in the beginning.
I give this film three and half big booms out of five

Castle in the Sky 1986
A classic animated adventure from my childhood. Still makes me reminds me of those days when I believed in magic and looked at the birds in the sky with envy. If I ever have children, this will be a staple of their childhoods.

Wonderful coming of age story everyone should see once in their lives. The suffocating experience of feeling lost in life and like you're not doing enough is something anyone can empathize with, regardless of age. Truly a timeless film with a wonderful message to all.
