  It's been a long while since I've sat and watched any kind of documentary, especially one about the creative process, and I forgot how rejuvenating it is. John Williams seems like such a sweet peach, and I think this might now be one of my favorite documentaries

  The Empire Strikes Back 1980

  My relationship with Empire remains forever complicated. I dare say we're in a situationship where I'm more drawn to it for what exists of it in my head rather than what's actually there.

  To be fair, though, it's not Empire's fault. I can appreciate that it is objectively a fantastic film! It's just unfortunately comprised of my two least favorite story tropes: the hero experiencing a bout of arrogance and getting a big head, and an unhappy ending.
