Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 2019

Haven’t seen this since theaters. It’s weird how many prequel fans hate this movie when they kinda have the same energy to me.
I have so much to say about this movie but I don’t feel like it so I’ll just say I really don’t like how Palpatine’s plan from the beginning wasn’t to use the Dyad to prolong his life. It feels really out of character for him to want to sacrifice his life so someone else can rule his empire.

A movie more concerned with making a spectacle of how fucked up a real, horrible, person is than actually presenting any commentary on his crimes. For a movie that has a line about “putting the victim’s family through all that for nothing,” it is remarkably, but not surprisingly, unconcerned with their distain for the movie.
