    Blood and Black Lace

Easily the best opening credits I have ever seen.

Blood and Black Lace is visual candy that somehow is able to balance as many characters as there are colors.

Even with the multi-color palette, red solidifies itself as the film’s intrinsic identity. It holds a stark contrast to everything around it; just as the murders feel so out of place in the beauty surrounding them.

Bava managed to slice this film by the throat, and allow itself to flow as needed; and nothing flows with more triumph than chaos.

Love comes in so fast and takes an eternity to go away. Though, we aren’t able to choose when it enters or exits. We’re at its disposal; helpless.

It is our master and our enemy; it is our true god.

We are no match to how we succumb to its wrath, neither are those in our company.

However, we are the ones to choose whether or not to accept it.

    Rear Window

Photographers have an unquenchable power; moving about, setting to setting, and creating meaning however they suit. The world is their canvas, unable to escape their lens and a victim to whatever still they wish to conjure.

Rear Window relinquishes the power and forces this creator to consume without the freedom to control. Once helpless, damned are you to look.
