The Batman 2022
Matt Reeves and co deliver an epic detective film noir set in a gritty, corrupt Gotham City.
This is no big action film, though it has its great set prices. It’s a slow burn noir that’s well worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed this take on the caped crusader.

A masterpiece. I cannot wait to see Part 2 and see if it finishes as strongly as it began, but based solely on part 1, I’m blown away.
The script is a pretty faithful adaptation of Herbert’s novel, and the direction is exactly as sharp and captivating as we’ve come to expect from Denis Villeneuve. The performances were all excellent and I thought the casting was spot on. Locations, production design, costumes, hair and makeup were all totally immersive. And Greg Fraser’s cinematography was oscar-worthy. Hans Zimmer’s music transported me to this strange world and kept me caught up in the story.
